When ordering a proxy you will have it for 1 month.  You can however keep it for longer by enabling auto-renewal (auto-enabled by default) and having enough funds in your account to afford it.  If you disable auto-renewal then you will need to manually go to the proxy page and click the "Extend" button.

There is no cap on how long you can keep your proxy.
